Being Careful With the Word of God – Pastor Christian Gisanura

Pastor Christian Gisanura teaches about “Being Careful With the Word of God” and warns people about false prophets.

On May 25, 2026, Pastor Christian Gisanura delivered a powerful sermon centered on the theme: “Being Careful With the Word of God.”

In his teaching, he emphasized the importance of Christians carefully examining what they hear, what they are taught, and the prophecies they receive by comparing everything with the Word of God.

Using the book of 2 Peter chapter 2, Pastor Gisanura explained that the issue of false prophets and false teachers is not new, but has existed for a very long time.

He said: “False prophets and false preachers have existed since ancient times. They taught division, exploitation, and many other wrong things.”

He explained that when people do not read the Bible for themselves, they easily accept every teaching without testing it against Scripture.
He added:

“Being careful about what we hear and comparing it with what we read in the Bible is very important. Not reading the Word of God causes people to be taught unnecessary and misleading things.”

“Love God Before Loving Prophecy”

During the sermon, Pastor Gisanura addressed the growing tendency of many people to seek prophecy more than they seek God Himself. He reminded Christians that a personal relationship with God should always come first.

“Before loving prophecy, first love God.” He explained that God’s first message usually comes through a person’s own heart before coming through other people. He emphasized that believing Jesus lives within someone is the first step.

He also encouraged believers to pray and build intimacy with God before depending entirely on people who claim to prophesy over them.

“You and God must first become friends; then He will bring the right people into your life.”
He Warned People About Prophecies That Disturb Their Hearts.

Pastor Gisanura said that messages from God bring peace and align with the spirit God places within a person. However, some people receive messages that conflict with their hearts and inner conviction.
He said:

“When a message comes and troubles your heart, know that it is not from God.” He gave examples of people being told that a certain person is meant to be their husband or wife even when they do not feel peace about it in their hearts.

“You should not walk blindly. Pray about it first.” Righteousness and Love for God Are the Foundation

In his sermon, Pastor Gisanura said that after developing a relationship with God, the next important step is righteousness.

“Your righteousness shows that you walk with God.”

He explained that the secret to walking with God is loving Him and loving His Word, because love for God allows Biblical prophecy to be fulfilled in a person’s life.

He Gave Examples of Those Who Perished in the Bible Using 2 Peter 2:3-9, Pastor Gisanura spoke about how God punished sinful angels, the ancient world during Noah’s time, and the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
He said:

“Look at the angels who sinned against God and became demons. In Sodom and Gomorrah, only Lot and his daughters survived. In Noah’s world, only one family was saved.”

He warned Christians that life on earth is temporary and that everyone should remember that one day they will stand before God.

“Today you are breathing; tomorrow you may be in the grave. Everything you own will not save you.” “God Knows How to Rescue Those Who Fear Him”

As he concluded his sermon, Pastor Gisanura read from 2 Peter 2:9, which says:
“The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials.”

He encouraged Christians to remain faithful to God and to avoid being misled by teachings or people who can pull them away from the truth of God’s Word.
