Easter Jubilee: From a sold-out BK Arena to Alicia & Germaine's breakthrough and Chance's “Ephod” moment

The “Easter Jubilee Music Gathering 2026” was more than a concert, it was a carefully orchestrated experience that blended excellence, worship, and cultural moments into one unforgettable night at BK Arena.

On April 5, Ben and Chance didn’t just host a show, they delivered a landmark event that has now set a new standard for Gospel concerts in Rwanda.

From early afternoon, the signs were already clear. Fans began arriving hours in advance, parking lots steadily filling as anticipation built.

By mid-afternoon, the early sellout of lower-tier tickets had already hinted at what was coming: a full house and a highly engaged audience. By showtime, BK Arena had transformed into a vibrant space of worship and celebration.

One of the first wins of the night came even before the music started. The entry process, often a weak point at large events, was smooth, organized, and efficient.

Attendees praised the calm coordination, while media accreditation was handled professionally, reflecting a well-prepared organizing team. Credit was also directed toward promoter Mupende Gideon Ndayishimiye (TMan), whose campaign played a key role in driving awareness.

Filling BK Arena is widely seen as a bold ambition, but Ben and Chance turned it into reality. Beyond ticket sales, their hands-on approach stood out, engaging audiences directly and even facilitating ticket purchases on the day of the event.

It was a mix of strategy, consistency, and connection with fans that ultimately led to a packed arena of over 10,000 people.

The concert also drew a strong presence of both performers and notable figures. Alongside Papi Clever and Dorcas and Alicia and Germaine, ministers like Christophe Ngoga took the stage, while influential personalities such as Fidele Masengo and Aline Gahongayire were among those who came to show support.

Visually, the event carried a distinct identity through coordinated dressing among the ministers. Red tones dominated the female performers, Chance, Alicia, and Dorcas, while Ben, Germaine, and Papi Clever complemented them with khaki-inspired outfits. This intentional styling added cohesion and elegance to the stage.

Musically, the night was deeply rooted in the message of the cross. Pastor Ngoga set the tone with powerful worship, while dance group Move4Christ energized the crowd with expressive choreography.

When Ben and Chance took the stage, the atmosphere peaked, songs like “Igikombe cyanjye,” “Amarira,” and “Zaburi” resonated strongly, turning the concert into a shared spiritual moment rather than just a performance.

A defining highlight of the night came from Alicia & Germaine. Despite it being their first-ever live performance, they carried themselves with confidence that surprised many.

Performing before thousands, they delivered songs like “Ndashima Umusaraba,” “Ibendera,” and “Uriyo” with remarkable poise. In doing so, they not only impressed the audience but also made history as one of the few sibling acts to debut on such a major stage, and at BK Arena.

The spiritual depth of the event was reinforced by Julienne Kabanda, whose message challenged attendees to reflect on their faith and readiness, drawing from the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. For many, this became a turning point, with some making personal decisions of faith.

Then came one of the most talked-about cultural moments of the night: Chance’s outfit. Her striking red dress didn’t just stand out, it sparked conversation across the arena. Some attendees openly admired it, even expressing a desire to replicate the design.

A media personality went as far as comparing it to the biblical “Ephod of Gideon,” a symbolic garment associated with spiritual identity and distinction in Judges 8. While symbolic, the comparison captured how memorable and unique her appearance felt to the audience.

By the end of the night, “Easter Jubilee 2026” had delivered on every level, organization, attendance, performance, and impact.

Alicia and Germaine

It was a night where new stars emerged, standards were raised, and moments, both spiritual and cultural, were firmly written into Rwanda’s Gospel music history.
