On February 3, 2026, Pastor Christian Gisanura delivered a powerful message focused on knowing who you are as the key to understanding God’s plan for your life.
At the start of the month, Pastor Gisanura emphasized that true purpose comes from recognizing your identity, your role, and the gift God has placed in you. He explained that many people misunderstand life, thinking that receiving blessings is only about asking, when in fact it requires being in the right position to receive them.
Drawing from Matthew 16:15–19, Pastor Gisanura highlighted how Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter’s declaration that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, became a life-changing revelation.
Peter realized that this truth did not come from human insight, but from God the Father revealing it to him. Jesus then renamed Simon “Peter,” meaning rock, and revealed the new role and responsibility he would hold.
On this foundation, Jesus explained that He would build His Church—a community of believers—and that the powers of darkness would never overcome it.
Pastor Gisanura emphasized the word “position”, noting that to be used by God, a person must be in the right position. Peter was entrusted with the keys of the Kingdom because he understood who Jesus was and his God-given purpose.
The pastor pointed out that many people cry out to God for answers but never receive them because they do not know who they are or the role they are meant to play. He warned that knowing about Jesus through the Bible or church teachings is not enough; one must have a personal relationship with Him—the living Jesus.
Pastor Gisanura stressed that loving Jesus should not depend on life’s challenges; He must hold the first place in our hearts. Even as the King of kings, Jesus chose to dwell within us and needs our cooperation to accomplish His purpose in the world.
Using an analogy, he compared life to a building: some lay the foundation, others build walls, install doors and windows, or set the roof. Everyone has a role, but if you do not know your God-given purpose, your efforts may never align with His plan.
He also referenced Hosea, reminding the audience that God’s people perish for lack of knowledge, emphasizing that living without God-given understanding is self-destructive.
Pastor Gisanura concluded by urging everyone to seek God’s purpose for their lives.
When you know Jesus personally, He reveals who you are, places you in your rightful position, and gives you the keys to unlock doors that were once closed.
