After meeting with President Kagame, Israel Mbonyi said: “2023 can be closed now"

On Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the end of the year 2023 event, His Excellency President Paul Kagame and his wife Jeannette Kagame hosted guests including Rwandans and their friends, at the Kigali Convention Center, where the gospel Singer Israel Mbonyi appeared to greet the President Paul Kagame.

After greeting President, Israel Mbonyi said: “I met my favorite. 2023 can be closed now.”
It is the first time that Israel Mbonyi as an artist who sings songs of worship and praise to God appeared with the President of Rwanda His Excellency Paul Kagame and The First Lady, Her Excellency Jeannette Kagame, at the same event.

The artist Israel Mbonyi has done more outstanding work this year than anything he has done since he started his music in 2014.

He won two awards at the same time, in the Isango Radio-Television Awards called IMA 2023 (Isango and Muzika Awards 2023), including the best performing male artist in Rwanda in 2023 and he was competing with other singers songs of the traditional musicians and secural ones.

He also won the award for an artist who sings songs of worship and praise to God in Rwanda who performed well. The reason it is in Rwanda is that among these categories there were others of those who performed well in the country of Burundi.

At the end of this year, Israel Mbonyi made history again, for the second time filling the Kigali BK Arena, in a concert he performed on Christmas, on December 25, 2023 called Icyambu Live Concert.

Another outstanding that Israel Mbonyi has made in the year 2023 is to make a famous song at the world level. His song "Nina Siri" which is in Swahili, has become a huge hit with 28 million views in just 6 months on Youtube.

President Paul Kagame is a President who loves hardworking people who strive for progress and not to go back. In his address to those who attended the event, including Israel Mbonyi, President Kagame said that the history Rwanda has gone through does not allow Rwandans to go back.

Israel Mbonyi also never backs down in his singing career, which is why it is being said that while they were shaking hands, he might have been praised for his outstanding work this year.
