Pastor Gisanura Explains How Believers Can Offer Their Bodies as Living Sacrifices to God

In a sermon delivered on August 12, 2026, Pastor Christian Gisanura spoke on the theme of presenting one’s body as a living sacrifice before God.

Drawing from Romans 12:1–2, which says, “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God…,” Pastor Gisanura explained that God has chosen to dwell in the life of every believer.

As a result, the human body should not be viewed merely as a tool for personal desires but as an instrument dedicated to serving God.

He noted that under the Old Testament, sacrifices were offered after being killed. However, through Christ, a new reality emerged: Christians are now called to offer their bodies while living, dedicating themselves to God through righteous actions, godly speech, and holy conduct.

Pastor Gisanura emphasized that the fruit of the Spirit is revealed through everyday actions. He reminded believers that Jesus taught that people are recognized by their fruits, not simply by the words they speak.

He illustrated this point by explaining that individuals must carefully choose what they watch and listen to. According to him, exposing oneself to harmful or ungodly influences is often a personal choice, and Christians are called to exercise wisdom regarding what they allow into their daily lives.

“The things your eyes see and your ears hear should be pleasing to God because your body is a sacrifice,” he said.

He further explained that even in relationships and interactions with others, words should reflect God’s will. Since Christians believe that Christ lives within them, every aspect of their behavior should honor Him.

Pastor Gisanura taught that offering one’s body as a living sacrifice requires separating oneself from sinful desires and anything that could draw a person away from God. He acknowledged that this may sometimes require giving up personal preferences or pleasures.

“A sacrifice is not always comfortable for the flesh, but it is the choice to live according to God’s will, even when it requires self-denial,” he stated.

In conclusion, Pastor Gisanura urged believers to live under the guidance of the mind of Christ rather than being controlled by worldly desires or temporary gains.

He reminded Christians that their bodies are holy instruments set apart for God’s purpose and should therefore be used in a way that glorifies Him.
