Christmas is a holiday that takes place every year, where Christians of some religions and churches celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Christ. It is a day of happiness for everyone be it celebrities or common people.
The biggest celebrities in Rwanda, said how they used to celebrate Christmas when they were children. Some have said that it has become more careless than before. What they used to do in common is eating well and dressing well.
Singer Marina, who grew up in the Friends of Jesus Choir in the ADEPR Church in Rwamagana District, said: "In my childhood, Christmas was good, even though we were few because there were four of us.
I used to enjoy it when I was in the church because we played different games of the birth of Jesus, so that someone who did not participate was very sad." After church, his father used to take them out to buy brochettes and Soda.
Film commentator and YouTuber Rocky Kimomo said: “I’ll never forget Christmas. It was a time to buy new clothes, eat well and go to church.”
Singer Alyn Sano said: "When I was a child, they bought us clothes like my elders for Christmas, and we walked the whole street all day long. When we left home, we would go back home and they didn’t beat us at the festival, and they forgave us instead, and giving us food."
Alliance, known as Allian Cool in the movie, said: “Our Christmas used to require us to go round the houses of our neighbours, so that by evening our stomachs would explode. I miss the rice and the meat sauce we used to eat.”
Journalist and artist Uncle Austin said: "Dad used to buy us clothes like new shoes, otherwise they slaughter cows, chickens..., families have dinner."
Singer Mico The Best sees Christmas as not being valued as much as it used to be when he was a child.
He said: "For us, Christmas was all about traveling, eating well and being happy."
Christmas is held every year on December 25th.
